Important changes
9th June, 2026
It has been 3 years since our last newsletter, so this is a big one with lots of information and a number of significant changes to our operations. Please read the relevant sections thoroughly so you aren’t caught out when booking your next ticket and making travel plans. We have broken down each operational change with detailed information as follows:
- Exclusive Airport Shuttles and Airport Buses joining forces;
- All Murcia shuttle services will be operated by Airport Buses S.L.;
- Murcia services to be split into two new routes with new stops, targeting shorter journey times and where possible, shorter waiting times;
- Almeria services to be split into two new routes with new stops, shorter journey times and, wherever possible, shorter waiting times;
- New booking cut off times & new messaging confirmation process;
- Christmas and New Year shut down notification;
- Roquetas route - two new stops for 2026;
- Price increases;
- Google reviews.
- Exclusive Airport Shuttles and Airport Buses joining forces: Following the launch of Airport Buses in 2025 across the Murcia region, Costa Blanca South & San Juan in Almeria, the two companies will now operate together from the Turre office in Almeria. Exclusive Airport Shuttles will continue to operate all services to Almeria and Alicante airports. Airport Buses will operate all Murcia services, including the Murcia services from the Mojacar & Vera areas allowing greater efficiency and flexibility. Credit vouchers and rewards schemes will be interchangeable between both companies.
2. Murcia shuttle services operated by Airport Buses S.L.: Following the successful launch of Airport Buses, it will expand the operation to Mojacar & Vera areas. If you already have a booking with Exclusive Airport Shuttles, the service will continue to be operated with the same vehicles, drivers and the same back up office team. The transition and transfer of your booking from one company to the other will be done automatically without any cost implication. In due course, a new ticket will be issued by Airport Buses and the Exclusive Airport Shuttles ticket will automatically be cancelled.
3. Murcia services to be split into two new routes with new stops, shorter journey times and, wherever possible, shorter waiting times: As we constantly strive to improve our services and listen to customer feedback, we are splitting the current service route into two, allowing more stops, shorter journey times for many, increased flexibility and, wherever possible, shorter journey times.
Passengers from the Vera, Palomares & Villaricos areas will no longer pass through Mojacar when travelling to Murcia.
The new route will include the following new stops:
- Valle del Este (Main Entrance & Hotel);
- Palomares (at the main bus stop at the entrance to the town);
- Villaricos (at the new bus stop by the roundabout).
This route will then continue along the coast picking up existing Airport Buses passengers along the way in San Juan, Aguilas, Mazarron, Camposol and Condado. Incoming passengers will also benefit from reduced waiting times due to greater flexibility & additional vehicles at the airport. If the volume of passengers is low, this route may be merged with the Mojacar route to manage costs.
The existing Mojacar route will no longer service Vera and will add new stops;
- The entrance to Oasis Camping, Los Gallardos;
- The bus stop at the entrance to Macenas.
- Almeria services to be split into two new routes with new stops, shorter journey times and, wherever possible, shorter waiting times: Target start date for this is the 30th June 2026.
The new route will include all existing Vera stops, existing stops at Los Gallardos Camping, Los Gallardos El Recreo & HPB Alfaix and a number of new stops, including:
- Villaricos (new bus stop by the roundabout);
- Palomares (at the main bus stop at the entrance to the town);
- Pueblo Salinas;
- Mercadona/Keoke in Puerto Rey;
- Plaza de Toros in Vera (Bar la Plaza);
- Antas El Real (Brico Lopez entrance);
- Oasis Camping entrance, Los Gallardos.
The existing Mojacar route will be amended to remove the Los Gallardos and HPB stops and to add the following stops:
- Valle del Este (Entrance and Hotel);
- The bus stop at the entrance to Macenas.
The plan is to allow more passengers access to our services and improve the service for existing customers, giving us greater flexibility for arriving passengers and where possible reducing waiting times at the airport.
5. New booking cut off times & new messaging confirmation process: This is the fundamental change to our operation as we aim to streamline our business and customer experience in a more efficient way. Text messages will no longer be sent at 11.00am CET the day before travel. Departure pick up times will be confirmed by WhatsApp at approx 13.30 CET. For passengers without WhatsApp, communication will continue via SMS.
At 13.00 CET, the booking system will shut down for the following day. We will then calculate the most time efficient journey and send a definitive pick-up time for all passengers travelling to the airport the next day. A confirmation of receipt of this information is required as soon as possible.
We understand that this cut off time removes some flexibility for last minute bookings but enables us to plan and organise vehicles/drivers and removes the need for us to change plans late in the day to accommodate late bookings. In the case of an emergency, we will endeavour to accommodate last minute bookings where possible. Customers should be aware that pick up times will not be changed once set so any last minute passengers may need to be flexible regarding their pick up point to avoid changing route times for existing passengers. By requesting travel confirmation for all passengers, we aim to eliminate time waiting for passengers whose travel plans have changed and are no longer travelling.
6. Christmas and New Year shut down notification: From 2026, services will no longer operate on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day to allow our staff and drivers to spend time with their families and enjoy the festivities. Services will operate as normal on all other days.
7. Roquetas route - two new stops for 2026: In response to demand, 2 new stops are being introduced on the Roquetas route:
- The Fenix Family Hotel (close to the Neptuno Hotel, Arena Center and the Pueblo Golf centre);
- The Residencial Agua Serena complex (opposite the Komo restaurant)
These new stops will provide a better service for passengers staying in these areas.
8. Price increases: Due to increased costs, we reluctantly inform you of price increases for Alicante and Almeria services. With immediate effect, the one way ticket to/from Alicante airport will increase to €34.99 whilst a one way journey to/from Almeria airport will now cost €21.99.
Please note the ticket price for Murcia airport will also increase to €33.99 once the transfer of existing bookings is complete.
Private transfer prices will also rise in line with increased costs.
9. Google reviews: We hope that you enjoy using our services and would really appreciate it if you could spare a minute to provide feedback on our services by reviewing us on Google.
